Dear Students/Parents/Guardians,

Mr. Rahman and Ms. Wang would like to welcome your child to the 7th Grade at Blueprint Middle School! We will be your child’s 7th grade math teachers. We are very excited about working with you and your child. We know we will have a successful and productive school year in Room 233.

As we begin the 2017-2018 school year, we would like to remind you that Blueprint Middle School is a uniform school. Our expectations are that each student will arrive according to the appropriate dress code, which is as follows: blue polo, navy blue pants, and black sneakers.

Additionally, your child will need the following supplies for class by Monday, September 18, 2017:

1.    1 Spiral Notebook (college-ruled for homework)
2.    1 Grid-Lined Spiral Notebook (for classwork)
3.    2 Folders (one for classwork and one for homework)
4.    Pencils – (we only use pencils in math!!!)
5.    Erasers

There are many ways you can support your child’s academic progress at home:

1.    Ask your child what they learned in school every day.
2.    Encourage your child to ask questions in class and come in for extra help when they need it. We are available before school, during lunch, and after school!
3.    Make sure you receive your child’s progress report once every trimester!

Please contact us with any concerns or questions you have at any time. You do not have to wait until parent/teacher conferences to get in touch with us; we are always willing to talk to you. We look forward to frequent communication with you as we work together to ensure your child’s success.

Feel free to contact us at any time via email:
Mr. Rahman: arafatrahman2017@gmail.com
Ms. Wang: dwang@blueprintms.org

Sincerely,
Mr. Rahman and Ms. Wang
Class Expectations
There are two expectations for all students and members of the Blueprint Middle School community: that we demonstrate respect and responsibility at all times.

Learning Choices
When you choose to ignore these expectations, this is the process we will use to help you get back on track:
1.    Verbal Warning
2.    Detention/phone call home
3.    Referral to Dean

Syracuse Trip
Every year, Blueprint Middle School invites our 7th grade students to an overnight free field trip to visit our Principal Ms. Harrington’s alma mater, Syracuse University. Though the official dates for this school year has not been confirmed yet, this field trip often takes place at the end of May or at the beginning of June. More information will be discussed during the 7th grade orientation that will be held at the end of September.

Class Blog
Please follow us at www.blueprintmath701703.blogspot.com for class announcements, reminders, and homework. We will be updating the blog everyday so that both students and parents can have access to the day’s homework assignments, so even on days that students are absent, they’ll have the opportunity to keep up with the work!

PS: Please bring in a re-usable water bottle—it saves plastic and time spent out of the classroom going to the water fountain J
